The Wall

The wall never broke,
It rose in the sky.
The man inside would only croak,
“It never did any good to cry”

The resilience was staggering,
Even the light didn’t pass through.
Inside there was only a king,
and no sign of happiness, not a clue.

But the weathered wall had to be dropped,
After all, it had lost its meaning.
Once there, it had the unwanted stopped,
But now it was only the good screening.

To stand inside in the shadows,
was one heavy task.
Outside, there was swayed a meadow,
Even the wall could not its smell mask.

But once, a mighty noise came,
that everyone could hear.
The wild, and the tame,
Those who had one ear.

The wall was crumbling.
The person inside,
To wall came stumbling,
But could not swallow his pride.

And down came the wall,
and came down fast.
Once it had been tall,
But it could not last.

People came to see the wall that broke,
Which once rose in the sky.
But they only heard the croak,
“It never did any good to cry”

And no one would cry.

Positive Thoughts and Stuff

We have never understood the power of positive thoughts. No, I mean it seriously. When was the last time that you remembered to smile at the doctors, teachers, the policemen, who are the pillars of our future? We have forgotten, that it is these thoughts that help us fight the dark and the cold. If the world has a superpower to keep the negativity at bay, it’s these thoughts.

“The smallest actions, can have the biggest of consequences.” Science has given us a theory for this. A butterfly’s flutter of it’s wings, althoug small and unmeasurable, can lead to a tornado. This beautiful example has taught us two things. One, we never know the outcome, because there are too many possibilities. The best we can do is hope. Next, our smallest actions, no matter how trivial and unrelated it may seem, can have amazing outcomes. It is a miracle to have been given the gift of positive thoughts. Through a smile, or a helping hand, we can convey so much, we can change so much in their lives. No matter how cool you think it is to ignore the negativity, to help ot spread, the knowledge that it is inevitable for these thoughts to survive is inescapable. We humans cannot live without them. This small and basic lesson, is one of the most important. So, be the butterfly, flap your wings and spread the positive thoughts. What do you know? Maybe you will have created a tornado.

Dissapointed

Today, we are fighting injustice. #blacklivesmatter is a slogan that has made history. Racial Justice, Women Empowerment, non-violent protesting rights, equality to all religions, these are only some of the topics which is being promoted and is being given serious thoughts by activists all over the world. But is it being shown by the media?

Free media, it is a topic which is excrucuatingly imperative for democracy and freedom. Billions of people depend on the different news channels and newspapers for daily news and updates. It should be the job of the media to uphold and spread the good values and rights. But, the media has dissapointed us. It doesn’t spread news, it spreads spice. Spice, which will get it news. Spice, which will get it TRP. It has dissapointed Democracy, The people, it has dissapointed everyone. Part of this is our fault. We are the ones who don’t give it enough pressure. We are the ones who don’t care anymore, what goes on in the world of the media. We can be fed fake news. We can be given biased forms of the events, and still we gobble it all up. We accept it, although we know it is not true. This is not a fight only for news. It’s a fight for rights, freedom, democracy, and equality.

Some news channels plan to uphold these values. They want to make a change. They are making a change. It’s our job help them. It’s our job to demand for real news. It’s not the hashtags which changes the world. It’s our persistence, our demands, and our love for freedom which changes the world. Gandhiji once said – “Be the change you want to see in the world.” I think that it’s high time we be that change.

Stubbornness towards society.

India has a beautifully constructed constitution. It’s fundamental to any democratic country. India’s constitution has guaranteed many rights to the people. But, the one that has affected me most is the right to freedom of expression. It’s one of the six fundamental rights in the constitution. This right is essential to our survival and well-being. We are taught this right in school, along the other fundamental rights guaranteed to everyone. But, are we really utilizing this right?

Many of us use this right in jokes. “Why did you swear?” “I have the freedom of expression.”
The thing is that this is no laughing matter. The government is kept on it’s toes only because of this right. The government was chosen by us, hence we are the ones responsible to keep it working. Whenever someone tries to say something, some critical remark on the policies of the government, that person is bombarded on all sides. Everyone tries to shut the person down. He/she is confined to spreading his/her message to the people who are already hearing it, and are comfortable with it. The thing is, that’s why there is the freedom of expression. It is their to keep the government uncomfortable, and to keep the leaders more open towards our needs, not their own. But society as we know it tries to stop us from using this right.

That is why it’s important, sometimes, to shut out society, and think ourselves what is the better way, the way that will lead us to a better country. Sometimes you will be wrong, sometimes other people will want to demote you and tell you that you’re wrong, but that is the point of freedom of expression. We are better able to communicate than before. Stubbornness, many people say, is a bad habit. I say that stubbornness is a fundamental habit that is neither good nor bad. It’s essential for freedom, for expression and especially for winning games. Being stubborn does not mean that you’re wrong. It means that you are trying to express yourself, and believe in something so much, that no persuasion can change your mind.

Forgiveness, and etc.

Mahatma Gandhi on said –
‘The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong.

A woman once told how she forgave her mother, who was also her abuser. Her mother once suffered strokes and there was no one to look after her. The woman came to her mother and read to her every day by her bedside. Eventually, she came to love her mother and forgave her for all her past mistakes.

This story is truly inspiring. Nobody can be perfect. We all make mistakes and have our faults. It is not everyone who can control their anger or their urge to hurt, maim or harm someone in some way. There are always moments in our lives when we seriously want to go back in the past and change a moment. Everyone has a moment like this in their lives. But since we are not the avengers, we can’t go back in our past and collect our stones. This world has been made with many faults and mistakes. But in that sea there are also many attributes that make us Human. Forgiveness, Willpower, Happiness and many more. We can never be perfect and never were. The world can only survive as long as we uphold these attributes. Forgiveness is one of them. We can never control the past but we can control our future. Our destiny. We must forgive in order to live. There are always many people who harm you. And, contrary to popular belief, the people who forgive are the people who are strong. Many people make the wrongs of other people their cocoon, their protective layer. They live in this layer and delve deeper into it. But they do not realize that if they do not come out of this cocoon, they will die in it. Like the butterfly came out of the cocoon, we must fly our way out. The only way we can make a crack in it is to forgive. Realize, without forgiveness, we might have extinguished the flame of human kind. We might have fought each other to death. Would never have stopped rebellions, riots, and even normal day-to-day fights with your siblings. We might not have been to forgive even ourselves. Thus is the power of forgiveness. God has given us one of the most powerful weapons ever felt. It makes us stronger, gives us power over ourselves.

We must learn to harness this attribute. It is an important factor if we want to survive in this modern time. So, crack through the cocoon and look into the light. It is our only way out of the cycle of suffering.

This Mountain Full of Life

The trees are flourishing. The rain is shining on the leaves, that are sparkling in the sunlight. Rustling in the smooth wind. The wind brings a smell of damp earth and a gentle rain, which splatters on the ground. SPLAT, SPLAT, SPLAT. This mountain is now full of life. The water flows down the half forgotten tracks. They forge their way down the muddy path, over the rocks of the pond, and into it. The turbulent water looks as if it’s dancing with the wind. The rain drops patter on the pond. The trees all wave in unison and the sweet melody of this timeless moment sings to all.

The flower

The sky is blue. The rivers are gushing along happily. Content the way they are. Content in having no purpose. Just gushing, gushing along, travelling in a path it has made for itself. It sees a small seed. The seed has been planted. It has been sown. It has flown. It has blown. The river sees it sitting there, working hard. “Oi. OI! What are you doing?” It asks the seed. “I am digging my grave.” It answers. The river is confused. “Why?” The river asks. It is now watching with confusion and curiosity. “I’m digging my grave. I wish for my body to become more. Hence I am sacrificing what I have.” It continued to wiggle itself into the moist soil. The river had seen flowers but it had never seen the seed sow itself. It watched in curiosity and amazement. Days and Nights passed. The seed had covered itself now and the river had nothing to do. When, in the harsh winter it froze itself, it watched and watched. He could feel it hard at work but could not see any change. Finally spring took over. The soil was moist and warm. It thrived with life. It was vibrating with joy, and, on a spring morning, the first petal came upon the little plant. In a little time, it had blossomed fully. It was beautiful in the morning dew and it shone in the night light. It became more by sacrificing what less it had. This tale was told by the river to other plants and animals. This was how nature came to always sacrifice itself. But in the end it always came out raw and beautiful. Si next time you see a seed which is sown. Which has flown and blown, watch it carefully.
